The Melata is a Honey from uncultivated and forested zones. This Honey is very distinctive from the other honeys since it is produced by the sugary secretations of the leaves of shrubs. It is very dark-coloured, with rich woody aroma honey. It has a sweet but strong flavour, less sugary than nectar honeys, with a fluid consistency. It is an excellent honey for breakfast, but it’s flavour also goes well with liqueur drinks, especially during winter time.
